REN Clean Skincare – Evercalm Barrier Support Elixir is a product I tried recently and wanted to share my thoughts on.
As someone with dry and sensitive skin, I’m always on the lookout for products that can help me keep my skin hydrated and calm. After using this elixir for a month, I can say that it does a great job at moisturizing and supporting the skin’s barrier. I also appreciate that it’s unscented and made with clean ingredients.
However, I did experience a minor breakout after using it for a few days, which is likely due to the oil content in the product. It’s worth noting that I have combination skin and can be prone to breakouts around my chin and nose area.
Healing Dry Skin

It is especially useful for those who have problems with closed comedones. One user was surprised at how quickly the oil started healing their bumpy, rough, dry cheek skin. The skin on their cheeks finally looked like skin again! Another user was skeptical of the product because most reviews are from people who were sent the product for free. But after checking the ingredients, they found that it hasn’t broken them out, and it immediately started healing their dry cheek skin. They also used other products to help, but none of them helped as drastically as this oil.
REN Clean Skincare – Evercalm Barrier Support ElixIr: Great Moisturizer

The REN Clean Skincare – Evercalm Barrier Support Elixir can be considered a great moisturizer. One user was looking for a facial oil that wouldn’t break them out but mainly moisturize. It doesn’t do anything dramatic to their face other than the moisturizing part, but they definitely recommend it. Another user found it to be a light and unscented dry oil that can be used as a standalone moisturizer in their skincare routine. This is pretty rare since they have combo/dry skin. They usually use oils on top of other moisturizers. The elixir does a great job moisturizing, and they think the barrier support claim is true. They had a small reaction on their cheek that was red and itchy, but after applying the elixir on the area for five nights straight, it seemed to calm down the redness immediately. Very soothing.
REN Clean Skincare – Evercalm Barrier Support ElixIr: Misleading Advertisement

On Facebook, some users found the ad for the REN Clean Skincare – Evercalm Barrier Support Elixir to be misleading. The product did not do anything for wrinkles, and it smelled like canola oil. They found it to be a lie, and it didn’t take wrinkles away quickly as the ad shows.
REN Clean Skincare – Evercalm Barrier Support ElixIr: Causes Breakouts

The REN Clean Skincare – Evercalm Barrier Support Elixir is an excellent hydrator that feels wonderful and makes skin look great. However, one user found that it caused them to start breaking out after only a week of using it. They discontinued the use of it and could not say how it would have worked long term. They have fair freckled skin that is dry/combination and can break out around their nose, mouth, and chin area. In general, this is not a problem, but some products, especially with oils, can make this happen. If this sounds like you, then this might not be your product.
REN Clean Skincare – Evercalm Barrier Support ElixIr: Costly

Although it is better than most non-oil-based serums, one user found their experience with the REN Clean Skincare – Evercalm Barrier Support Elixir to be rather disappointing, especially given the cost. The first ingredient by volume, “caprylic/capric triglyceride,” isn’t an oil, and it’s unknown as to what weight this ingredient holds relative to the lesser ingredients. Based on some light research, it appears that this ingredient is typically made by combining coconut oil with glycerin, and coconut oil is definitely not present in their favorite oil-based serums. They suggest MONA Mother Nature’s Innovation rose facial oil if you’re interested in an oil-based serum and cannot afford the REN Clean Skincare – Evercalm Barrier Support Elixir. The MONA product is currently $10 less per ounce and has provided significantly better results for them, even though they’ve rated both products four stars.
Easy to Apply

A dry-touch oil that is easy to apply using the dropper is the REN Clean Skincare – Evercalm Barrier Support Elixir. One user has dry, sensitive, rosacea-prone skin and is always on the hunt for a gentle product that will help them keep their skin calm, comfortable, and hydrated day and night, especially as the drier months come in. They’ve only been using this for a week and haven’t seen significant improvements, but it has not irritated their skin. They’ve been applying it to the back of their hands at night before they put on their hand cream and have seen more improvement there than on their face. A little goes a long way, so the bottle should last the fall/winter.

Conclusion
Overall, REN’s Evercalm Barrier Support Elixir is a great choice for those looking for a lightweight and unscented oil to help moisturize and support the skin’s barrier.
